How hard do you work to make your systems work?
Systems are the life blood of a company, from answering the phone to getting Mabel’s tea just right, systems dictate how the company’s processes and interactions will be carried out. Without systems in place, it would be a free for all and Mabel may not get a decent cup of tea all day.
A system can be as simple as a checklist showing the essential tasks to carry out. NHS Cleaners use them to ensure an area is cleaned to a suitable standard. Pilots use them before take-off and here at Desktop Towers, we use them to ensure Mabel gets the perfect cuppa every time.
What we love about them
A system brings consistent repeatability to a process. It is easier to train an employee to carry out a process if there is a system in place to mark the steps. If everybody follows the same steps every time the process is carried out, it becomes significantly easier to review and refine the process. It quickly highlights where any training issues may arise.
Many systems start out life as a simple checklist and never need refining. Where a system is more complex, or data needs to be captured, a database or app can be created to ensure each step is followed and the results are logged, giving traceability throughout the process.
Systems can be joined up. It is possible to link multiple systems with a central database taking pertinent information from each and displaying in a combined, logical format. Removing the need to switch between multiple applications to get a piece of information.
How can we help?
At Desktop Enterprises we regularly take businesses through the process of digital transformation (yes, we have a system for that too). Getting all their critical systems talking to a database, bringing greater efficiency and peace of mind to the business owner.
